SFL Tech has achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification, strengthening the information security framework behind our technology delivery.
For us, this is an important milestone because of where our work sits.
We implement and optimise CargoWise, build API and EDI integrations, develop technology solutions and support live logistics environments. That work can place our teams close to operational, financial, commercial and customer information that our clients depend on every day.
Security therefore cannot sit at the edge of delivery. It has to be part of the way we operate as a business.
ISO/IEC 27001 gives that responsibility a formal structure.
A Recognised Framework for Managing Information Security
ISO/IEC 27001 sets the requirements for establishing, maintaining and continually improving an Information Security Management System (ISMS).
At its core is a risk-based approach: understand what information needs to be protected, identify the risks around it, apply appropriate controls and continue reviewing those controls as the organisation and its technology environment change. (ISO)
The standard is built around protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information.
For our clients, those principles are not abstract.
